Kingdom of Flowers · Chapter II

Líria

The flowers that guided the way
✦ ✦ ✦

In the Kingdom of Flowers, there were gardens so beautiful that travelers would cross all of Vaalbara just to see them. There were rose bushes that sang at dawn, trees covered in golden petals, entire fields of blue flowers that bowed when the moon passed by.

But Líria was not born in any of those places. Líria was born at the edge of a path.

A simple, narrow, almost forgotten path, used by those who sought not wonders, but a way home. There, between light stones and soft grasses, grew small white flowers connected by delicate stems, as if the forest had embroidered a constellation on the earth.

No one stopped to look at them for too long. They were humble flowers. They did not compete with the grand gardens. They did not open their petals to be chosen. They simply remained there, accompanying the path in silence.

One afternoon, a girl got lost in the forest. She had followed the flight of a butterfly until she was too far from home. When she wanted to go back, all the paths looked the same. The sun began to set, shadows lengthened among the trees, and fear choked her throat.

She called out. No one answered. She ran. She stumbled. And as she fell to the ground, her hand brushed against one of those small white flowers.

Then the flower glowed. Then another glowed. And another. One by one, the Líria flowers began to light up along the path, not with an intense or proud light, but with a soft radiance, just enough to show the next step.

The girl followed them. Each flower seemed to whisper to her:
this way. one more step.
there's still a path. you can still go back.

When she reached the clearing where they were waiting for her, she turned to look back. The flowers were still there, barely glowing, as if they had done nothing extraordinary. But Vaalbara had seen it.

The Kingdom of Flowers then understood that not all beauty is born to dazzle. Some beauties are born to accompany. To guide. To remind us that even the small can sustain us when we don't know where to go.

From those intertwined flowers, Líria was born. A jewel created for those who find magic in simplicity. For those who know that the most important promises are not always spoken aloud. For those who understand that a light doesn't need to be huge to save us from the darkness.

They say that whoever wears Líria remembers never to scorn small signs. Sometimes a tiny flower knows the way. Sometimes a soft light is enough. Sometimes what seemed insignificant is exactly what guides us home.
